DANCES FOR FIVE COUPLES      Music is 32 bars per Round, unless stated otherwise in brackets, e.g. (48) after the dance title, and is normally played 5 times through.

  4. Progression.
    For Longways (a) As couples: WSP=Whole-Set Progression i.e. 23451; Inv-WSP=Inverse Whole-Set Progression i.e. 51234; any other progression, e.g. 34251. (b) As individuals (i.e. Change-partner, e.g. Ch-ptnr(M51234,L23451) = Men in order 51234 from the top, Ladies in order 23451.
    For Rounds and/or Levi Jackson formation (a) As couples, e.g. <2 = 2 places clockwise. (b) As individuals, e.g Ch-ptnr(M<2,L>1) = Men 2 places clockwise, Ladies 1 place anticlockwise.
  5. Rhythm (if not a reel or jig).
  6. Number and title of the book containing this dance.
